Omar Abdullah hints at possible BJP-PDP alliance in poll-bound J-K
National Conference Vice President, Omar Abdullah on 2 September hinted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may be in touch again with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) through RSS leader and former general secretary of the party, Ram Madhav.
D Mehbooba Mufti– The PDP-led party is the only party in Jammu and Kashmir that has good relations with Madhav, former state chief minister Abdullah said.
“Indeed there is no doubt that there is a good relationship with any party Ram Madhav, It is PDP. He was the man behind the 2015 BJP-PDP alliance. He has probably been brought again for the same purpose,” Abdullah said while talking to reporters in Kangan area of Ganderbal district, after submitting his nomination papers from the seat of party MP Mia Altaf’s son Miar Ali.
Madhav, who has been appointed as the election in-charge for the upcoming assembly elections Jammu and KashmirCredit for the 2015 alliance between the BJP and the PDP.
When asked if there will be a BJP-PDP alliance again, Omar said, “Let them get seats first.”
Voting is taking place Three stages with the first round on September 18. The next two phases will be held on 25 September and 1 October. The result will be declared on October 4. The NC and PDP, the opposition National Alliance, both part of the India Bloc, are rivals in Jammu and Kashmir.
in 2014 Assembly pollss, PDP emerged as the single largest party with 28 seats. All the seats that PDP won came from the Kashmir Valley. BJP is second with 25 seats. All the seats BJP won came from Jammu.
